No one was choosing to weave the Marquam Bridge. I looked online for photos, and found hundreds. Several taken from the tram showed the on ramps. They are beautiful. It was fun to weave, with all the interlocking swirls, and the river reflections. I am happy I chose it.

Phoebe McAfee obtained a BA in sculpture and a MA in textiles, then spent her professional weaving life with the San Francisco Tapestry Workshop (1977-1981) and as a weaver for Mark Adams (1982-2002). She is affiliated with local and regional fiber guilds.
