As I drive through downtown Portland, I am always enchanted by the many beautiful buildings that make up the city, especially the twin towers of the Oregon Convention Center. During the day, the towers appear green, at night they are lit by different colored lights. It is always striking.
My weaving is a fantasy city-scape, where the west-side buildings are all lined up in a row, in black and white. The east-side convention center towers stand apart, outside the frame, as if to say: “Look at us, we are special!”
