I wove one tapestry of the Fremont Bridge and enjoyed playing with vivid color and warping the shape. I was inspired by the work of tapestry artist Don Burns to weave more versions of the bridge in different seasons.
I used the same cartoon, but I hoped to show characteristics of each season in my color selection, and small changes to represent the season.
Summer: Hot colors, bright, giant sun making the bridge look warped from the heat.
Autumn: Overcast skies, colorful leaves being stirred by the wind, unsettled.
Winter: Cold colors, driving snow collecting on the bridge and the road side, freezing.
Spring: Green and more green, clear skies and lush bushes growing near the
bridge railings.
