Covered Bridge
Materials: Cotton warp, wool weft

When we decided to weave bridges I immediately thought about a covered bridge. They fascinate me. You don't automatically think of a covered bridge in Oregon. They are more common in areas with heavy snow. But I found a beautiful covered bridge at the headwaters of the Willamette river near Eugene, Oregon. I used my beautiful hand-spun wool.

Janet Christensen began weaving late in life after learning to spin and having prodigious amounts of yarn to use. She weaves at the Damascus Fiber Arts School. Her work alternates between Navajo style patterns and tapestry pictures.
