I have attended Damascus Fiber Arts School for almost 20 years. I started with a box weaving workshop and fell in love with the art of weaving. Since then I have taken classes in Navajo, Tapestry, Ravenstail and floor loom weaving, taking time to learn the techniques of each of them. I have attended several workshops with well-known artists that have been offered at the school,
trying to perfect different techniques.
Artist Statement
I have always loved the whole process of weaving. Choosing a pattern, finding the right colors and the process of bringing it all together into being. In the past, I have always woven copies of things I have liked, a Navajo rug pattern, a
post card, a picture out of a magazine; things I could do while learning proper
techniques. Now I am looking forward to taking the next step in the designing of my own ideas and finding my own voice in the process.
