Kiki Dembrow
After Kiki Dembrow retired, she began a new life as a weaver in the fall of 2005 when she discovered Damascus Fiber Arts School. She learned to weave and realize her dream of creating visual images. Studying, exploring, and experimenting she continues to learn and grow as a tapestry artist and instructor. She is a member of the American Tapestry Alliance, a founding member of Willamette Tapestry Artists, and serves as President of the Damascus Fiber Arts School Board.

Artist Statement
Weaving has become the means by which I explore the interplay of ideas, images, and colors that resonate for me. The Pacific Northwest inspires me. How will I translate ideas, images and colors into the language of weaving? The constraints of warp and weft present challenges, choices to balance. The title of a piece may suggest a specific way to “see” the tapestry, but just what is intended is for the viewer to decide. The tapestry is successful if a connection is made.
